A resurfaced interview of the singer-songwriter Kevin McCall has ignited a wave of discussion online — the 2019 clip shows him detailing how he burned through more than $8 million in royalties and earnings, and he’s now publicly accusing Chris Brown of owing him $25,000.
In the video segment (originally captured in a 2019 interview), McCall reflects on a peak-career moment: after co-writing and producing hits like “Deuces,” and working with Brown in the early 2010s, he says the checks came in fast — and he spent even faster.
He admits to “blowing the bag,” mentioning that once he had large royalty payments, he didn’t have a plan for managing them — which contributed to his financial decline.
Fast-forward to 2025: McCall appeared on the podcast Back On Figg and tearfully claimed that Brown still owes him $25,000 for their collaborative work — specifically citing a four-song obligation he says he fulfilled (including their hit “Deuces”), yet has not been paid for.
He told TMZ elaborating details: “It says I owe ’em four songs … even though I recouped off the first song, ‘Deuces’ … I got all the songs done and now they’re saying Chris has to sign off.”
