When the Atlanta Hawks take on the Orlando Magic in March, they will also be commemorating Magic City Night. A night that will pay homage to the city’s iconic gentlemen’s club.
Killer Mike Slams Magic City Night Critics
However, Magic City Night has been met with considerable criticism. With many people calling for the commemoration to be nixed altogether. However, during a recent interview with TMZ, Atlanta-based artist Killer Mike is telling all of the outsiders to mind their business.
“So you come to Atlanta … and they say they like the girls and the chicken wings, and the city doesn’t have a problem with it, shut the fuck up,” the rap artist said in response to the criticism (via Complex).
After the Hawks made the announcement, San Antonio Spurs big man, Luke Kornet, called the event disrespectful to women. Golden State Warriors big man Al Horford, who spent nine seasons with the Hawks, echoed the same sentiment.
However, Killer Mike believes that the two NBA players should mind their own business, which is what pays them.
“Al Horford, we never f****d with you anyway,” Mike continued. “We don’t f**k with Luke. Luke should stay in San Antonio and concern himself with San Antonio business.”
Killer Mike is not the only rap artist to take issue with the two NBA players expressing criticism. During a recent episode of It is What it Is, Cam’ron also called out Horford for his comments. And accused him of jumping on the bandwagon.
“And Al Horford, you too, mind your business,” he said. “This doesn’t have anything to do with you. Don’t jump on the n***a bandwagon, yo. You are Spanish. Ya’ll got the most beautiful strippers. F**k, what are you talking about, yo?”
Despite the criticism, the Hawks don’t have any plans to make any changes to Magic City Night. And it will go on as scheduled when they take on the Magic on March 16.
