Kodak Black is facing serious accusations of domestic violence from the mother of two of his children as the pair engage in a heated custody dispute in Broward County court, according to CBS12’s news partner, the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Court documents and police reports show that Maranda Johnson, 23, has accused the rapper—born Bill Kapri—of physically abusing her. While Johnson’s claims have been detailed in legal filings, Kodak Black has not been criminally charged in connection with the alleged abuse.
The Sun Sentinel reports that Johnson was arrested at the courthouse on August 7, accused of vandalizing Black’s luxury vehicles and engaging in a fight at their daughter’s birthday party earlier this year.
Johnson’s attorney, Jodie Bassichis, called the arrest an intimidation tactic, claiming it came in retaliation for her client’s push for custody and child support. Since filing for legal action, Johnson has been hit with multiple lawsuits and two separate criminal charges in the past month alone.
“All I wanted was to get away from a toxic relationship and have Dad do his part as a father,” Johnson told the Sun Sentinel.
Kodak Black’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, disputes Johnson’s account, insisting his client has consistently provided financial support for their 1-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter.
