Nau’Jour Grainger, better known as the rapper Toosii, appeared to be on the right track to achieve his dreams of being a college football player. But that no longer appears to be the case.
Lane Kiffin Confirms Toosii is No Longer With LSU
After being added to the Louisiana State University (LSU) football roster earlier this year, it doesn’t appear that Toosii is still with the team. When LSU head football coach Lane Kiffin appeared on The In the Bayou with Tyrann Mathieu on Wednesday (June 17), he confirmed that Toosii is no longer on the roster. As for the reason, Kiffin said that the rapper struggled to find the balance between his athletic and music careers and that it ultimately put “limitations on what he can make and do.
“He signed with one of those gambling companies where you do the commercials and stuff… so he went back to his professional career, but I really enjoyed being around him. It wasn’t a stunt at all,” he said.
Of course, the revelation led to a lot of reactions from fans on social media.
“Toosii used LSU for the press, and LSU used Toosii for the buzz. Sounds like a fair trade, honestly,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“College football is so deep in the entertainment economy now that losing a recruit to a gambling commercial is just a normal Tuesday,” a second user chimed in.
“That man don’t really wanna play, he’s been at 3 programs just foolin around,” a third user added.
At the time of writing, Toosii has not responded to Kiffin’s comments.
