Latto appeared on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club on Thursday (June 4). And of course, the co-hosts grilled her about the rumors that she is beefing with fellow femcee Cardi B.
On one of the tracks on her new album titled, Gimme Dat, she appears to take shots at the Bodak Yellow creator.
“B said what? Let’s clock it. Really got a Hermès store in my closet Talkin’ ’bout buyin’ big mama a bag like my N ain’t already bought it Like my N ain’t comin’ off racks Big bank over here, big facts Wish a B would get in that booth I’m callin’ up PlaqueBoyMax,” she raps on the song.
Latto Confirms She Took Shots at Cardi B on ‘Gimme Dat’
During her appearance on the morning program, Latto confirmed that she was indeed talking about Cardi. And said she really took exception to her previous comments about her. She rushed to do a verse for her album while she was still pregnant.
“Yeah, it was about Cardi …. I was at the early stage of my pregnancy. And I rushed to the studio to do this verse for her. In time for the first week sales or whatever for the errrtime remix. And literally like two weeks later, I look all over the internet, and I see I’m being called p***y,” Latto said. “I’m pregnant, and emotions are high … and this is somebody who I dead ass look at as a friend. I understand that it’s industry s**t too, but we were on a texting basis.”

Latto’s verse was a response to DJ Akademiks leaking audio of Cardi B’s private phone conversation last September. On the phone call, Cardi B threatens violence against rapper Ice Spice. But Latto caught a stray in the process. After she vowed to handle her beef with Ice Spice much differently than Latto did. Referring to Latto as “p***y” for squashing the beef.
The rap star did say that she would be open to having a conversation with Cardi. But she did admit she did not know when it would take place. Especially now that she is a new mother.
