LeBron is still one of the best players in the NBA. However, as he approaches his 41st birthday in December, it is still clear that he has more days behind him than in front of him. And fans are slowly coming to terms with the reality that he could soon retire.
LeBron Being Sued By Fan Over “Second Decision”
So when LeBron sent out a social media post on Monday (October 6), where he announced that he was making the “decision of all decisions” on October 7, it sent social media into a frenzy.
However, it turned out that King James was just trolling. The decision was just a promotion for a special edition Hennessy cognac, which features his name and likeness. While some fans were relieved to learn that LeBron was not retiring, other fans were outraged. One fan was so upset that he is now taking legal action. Claiming that LeBron’s retirement spoof cost him big.
29-year-old Andrew Garcia told TMZ that once James made the social media post on October 7, he rushed to score two tickets. To what he presumed would be LeBron’s final matchup against his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers. But now that LeBron has revealed what the decision is, the tickets are essentially worthless.
In the lawsuit, Garcia claims that James is guilty of “rraud, deception, misrepresentation, and any and all basis of legal recovery.” As a result, he wants James refund him $856.66. Which is what he spent on the tickets for the matchup between the Lakers and Cavaliers.
As you might expect, fans went off in the comments section on social media.
“Everyone was duped, though, even the biggest LeBron Stan’s should be annoyed at the false hype he created,” one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Suing for less than a band this dude wants bron to pay his light bill,” another user added.
LeBron has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
