In the eyes of many people, LeBron James is the greatest basketball player of all time. He is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, the first player to ever reach 50,000 career points, and one of two players to win the Most Valuable Player award at least four times.

LeBron Appears to Tease Retirement Announcement

LeBron is still one of the top players in the NBA. But the truth is that he isn’t getting any younger. And as he prepares to enter his 23rd NBA season, the murmurs about when he will retire are growing louder.

So when LeBron sent out a social media post on Monday (October 6), where he announced that he was making the “decision of all decisions” on October 7, it sent social media into a frenzy.

Check it out below:

Many fans believe they could soon find out if — or at least when– LeBron will finally hang up his Nikes.

“My GOAT bout to retire and become a streamer,” one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I’m excited to hear that the second-best NBA player of all time is retiring,” another user added.

“Last season. Zero chance LeBron is retiring without a farewell tour. Looking forward to attending one of these final games!” another person said.

Other fans remained skeptical about LeBron’s forthcoming decision. As some guessed that it could be a promo for an upcoming Ad. With many noting that LeBron recently signed a huge deal with Amazon, and that October 7 marks the beginning of Prime Day. In addition, the NBA finalized a deal last season to have NBA games broadcast on Prime starting in 2025.

But at 40 going on 41 years old, and a million miles on his body, it is not far-fetched to believe that King James is looking at life after basketball.

Stay tuned for more updates.
