Lil Baby is not backing down after the Atlanta police made claims linking the rapper to the deaths of two 13-year-old boys.

During a Wednesday press conference, Atlanta Police Homicide Commander Maj. Ralph Woolfolk alleged that a May 2024 shooting at Lil Baby’s music video set fueled gang tensions, ultimately leading to multiple violent incidents, including the fatal shooting of Lamon Freeman and JaKody Davis in July.
Woolfolk called the video shoot a “cowardly act” and alleged that the rapper filmed in a location he “knew he should not have been.”
In a statement issued Friday, attorneys Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg called the police’s remarks “complete and total nonsense,” saying, “To say that he couldn’t shoot a music video in his hometown, a place that he loves and has continued to uplift, is disgraceful. Even more, the location for a major music video shoot is a decision made by a professional team and is not a decision made by any individual.”
His attorneys emphasized that he was not involved in the crimes and denounced the police department’s statements as “unprofessional, unethical, and shameful.”
Following the rumors, Lil Baby took to Instagram to dismiss the claims, writing, “Thanks for all the concerns. Please don’t be misinformed by fake news!! I’m overly good.”
Baby has found himself in the middle of a lot of drama over the past several months. He has also been in a cold war with one of his frequent collaborators Gunna.
The unfolding of the YSL RICO trial caused a noticeable rift in the Atlanta natives’ relationship, given Gunna’s involvement in the case and Lil Baby’s ties with Young. In a recent interview with Charlemagne the God, 4PF head honcho says that he doesn’t see himself working with Gunna in the future. He also noted that he and Gunna do not currently have a relationship.
