After spending more than a year in prison, rap star Lil Durk has had time to do some reflecting. And it appears that he has come to terms with the sobering reality of his situation.
Lil Durk Breaks Silence Ahead of Federal Trial
In a new social media post, Durk appears to call out the disloyal people who were once in his circle.
“Crazy how you gotta wait until it’s dark out to see who’s really with you,” he wrote in a social media post (Via LiveBitez).
However, fans in the comments section did not appear to have much sympathy for the rap artist.
“I don’t understand why people think that they’re outcome is going to be different. We see this story in the streets all the time,” one fan wrote.
“N****s be rich af with 15 kids, and it’s still not enough to stay out the streets,” a second user chimed in.
“Some will never understand that a friend is like a rare jewel until they’re in a helluva situation,” a third user added.
The post comes at an interesting time. Just days after a report from AllHipHop claimed that the state said that they had “multiple cooperating witnesses,” ready to testify against him at his upcoming trial.
In the superseding indictment, the feds alleged that Lil Durk, born Durk Banks, arranged the shooting of rival rap star Quando Rondo, as retaliation over a November 2020 shooting. One that left Chicago rapper, King Von, dead.
The feds allege that in response to King Von’s murder, Durk put a bounty on Rondo’s head. The feds also allege that in August 2022, Durk arranged for several members of his Only The Family (OTF) crew to fly from Los Angeles to Chicago. Once arriving, he arranged for the crew members to stalk Rondo, who eventually stopped at a gas station. And that’s when the members opened fire — leaving Rondo’s cousin dead.
The trial was initially scheduled to begin this month, but has once again been delayed until May 2026.
