Federal prosecutors have filed a fourth superseding indictment against Lil Durk ahead of his scheduled August 20 murder-for-hire trial.

According to court documents, the updated indictment does not introduce any new criminal charges or allegations against the Chicago rapper. Instead, prosecutors say the filing reorganizes and restructures the existing counts to address legal technicalities before the case goes to trial.

Durk continues to face serious federal allegations connected to an alleged murder-for-hire conspiracy. The high-profile case remains one of the most closely watched legal battles in hip-hop.

Durk Keeps Fighting

Per a Wednesday (July 29) report from AllHipHop, prosecutors want to enter the rap star’s 2021 song “Pissed Me Off” into evidence. They specifically highlighted the imagery of Durk’s “V.Roy” chain. As well as the visuals of late rapper King Von. Stating that it further proves that Durk put a bounty on Quando Rondo and Lul Pab. They also noted that in the video, Durk and his crew are flashing gang signs. Which further backs their claim that OTF is a criminal enterprise.

In the initial indictment, the feds alleged that in response to rapper King Von’s murder, Durk put a bounty on rapper Quando Rondo’s head. He believed himself to be involved. They claim that in August 2022, Durk arranged for several members of his Only The Family (OTF) crew to fly from Los Angeles to Chicago. Once he arrived, he arranged for the crew members to follow Rondo, who eventually stopped at a gas station. And that’s when the members opened fire — leaving Rondo’s cousin dead.

The use of Durk’s lyrics as evidence in the trial has been an uphill battle between the prosecution and the defense. The judge ultimately decided that his lyrics could not be used as evidence. But they are still trying to find other loopholes to bolster their case.
