Rap star Lil Durk has spent the last year in prison. To bring things up to speed, the Chicago native was arrested on murder for hire charges. The No Interviews creator, born Durk Banks, arranged the shooting of rival rap star Quando Rondo, as retaliation over a November 2020 shooting that left one person dead.
Lil Durk Teases Upcoming Music With New Snippet
While things may be looking grim for the rap star, he still hasn’t lost his passion for making music. In a snippet posted to his social media account on Sunday (October 19), the rap star teased an emotional new song.
“Who you depend on? / If you need some, who can you bend on? / Ask your b*tch, is she really puttin’ n****s in the friend zone,” he raps on the track.
Durk also pens a tribute to those who have remained solid while he is incarcerated.
“I don’t have all the words, but I’m thankful to still have a voice. Thankful for everyone who stood on love when things got heavy. I’m working on myself, working on peace, and hoping the city feels that too,” he wrote on social media.

Fans on social media reciprocated the love.
Seeing you tweet after almost a year really bring life back to the street the voice, the world,the street, miss ya,” one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Free Smurk you’ll be home soon. God bless you an ur family through these hard times. Trials and tribulations stay ten toes an you’ll be home back to what you were doing,” another user added.

Durk is facing life in prison. For arranging the shooting of rival rapper Quando Rondo. However, it was Quando’s cousin Lul Pap whose life was claimed during the ambush.
