Lil Durk’s federal murder-for-hire trial has reportedly been postponed once again.
During a pretrial hearing in Los Angeles on Monday (Feb. 23), the court pushed Durk’s trial date back to August 25, 2026. The Chicago rapper is accused of paying five individuals to kill rapper Quando Rondo in 2022.
According to Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillon, the new date comes with a caveat. Three co-defendants have filed motions seeking to sever their cases from Durk’s. If the judge grants those requests, Durk has indicated he would prefer to go to trial sooner. The August 25 date was reportedly set to accommodate the defense team for one of the co-defendants — not Durk himself.
The case has seen multiple delays since Durk’s arrest in October 2024. The trial was initially scheduled for Jan. 7, 2025, before being moved to Oct. 14, 2025, due to the complexity of the case. Last September, it was pushed to Jan. 6, 2026. In January, the date shifted again to April 21 before this latest postponement.
With the trial now set for late August — pending any further rulings — Durk’s legal battle continues to stretch on, leaving uncertainty around when the high-profile case will finally begin.
Lil Durk's trial moved to 8/25/26 at a hearing today, but there's a catch:

If the judge grants pending motion from 3 co-defendants seeking to sever their cases from Durk's trial, Durk wants to go sooner
The 8/25 date was set to accommodate defense for co-defendant, not Durk
