Rapper Lil Tjay has been arrested in connection with the recent shooting of Offset outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, according to authorities.
The incident took place Monday evening around 7 p.m. in the valet area of the popular Florida venue, where Offset was shot and later transported to a nearby hospital. Police confirmed that his injuries were non-life-threatening.
Authorities say Lil Tjay, born Tione Jayden Merritt, was taken into custody later that night and charged in connection with the incident. However, he was reportedly booked on a disorderly conduct charge and is being held on a $500 bond.
Tjay’s attorney, Dawn M. Florio, has strongly denied any involvement in the shooting. In a public statement, she dismissed circulating claims as “rumors,” emphasizing that her client has not been charged with any shooting-related offense and urging the public to rely on verified reporting.
Offset, who shares three children with superstar Cardi B, is said to be in stable condition and recovering.
The story was first reported by TMZ, and details surrounding the case are still developing. Lil Tjay, known for hits like “F.N.” and “Calling My Phone,” has been releasing music independently since departing Columbia Records in 2024.
