Lil Wayne was scheduled to kick off his anniversary tour. To celebrate two decades of his highly acclaimed Tha Carter series on June 30. However, that did not happen because he was a no-show at his event.

Lil Wayne Apologizes Amid Backlash For Concert No-Show

Weezy became the subject of heavy backlash. Understandably, because ticket holders were outraged by his no-show, without a proper explanation.

In response, the rap star took to social media and apologized to those same ticket holders. And said that the show had been rescheduled for another date in July.

“My Maine fans, I’m so sorry,” Wayne said in the post shared by Billboard. “The show is being rescheduled to July 28. Please hold on to your tickets; they will be honored for the rescheduled date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders. I ain’t s–t without you. I can’t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve.”

However, his apology did not exactly get a warm reception from fans.

“Anyone who still supports that grimlin is a sucker,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Making people wait until eleven pm just to cancel the concert is totally unprofessional,” a second person chimed in.

“Y’all cried for weeks cause he wasn’t chosen to be the headliner for the Super Bowl in New Orleans. If you had sense, you knew exactly why,” a third user remarked.

The reason for Wayne’s disappearance still has not been revealed. But whatever the reason was did not appear to be too serious. Because he was at Michael Rubin’s all-white party on Wednesday (July 1).
