Lil Wayne provided some insight into what fans can expect when Tha Carter VI drops on June 6 — and it sounds like a genre-defying event.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the rap icon revealed an eclectic and star-studded lineup of collaborators. Among the big names are Billie Eilish, Miley Cyrus, Wyclef Jean, MGK, Elephant Man, Wheezy, and more
Wayne also shared that U2’s Bono will appear on a track titled “These Are the Days,” which will include a special guest: his teenage son, Kameron. And in one of the most unexpected turns, opera legend Andrea Bocelli lends his voice to a rendition of “Ave Maria” on the album.
“If there’s one thing about this album that’s different,” Wayne explained, “it’s me approaching it like, ‘Man, what would I sound like on something with such and such?’” This experimental spirit seems to drive much of Tha Carter VI’s direction.
Wyclef Jean, who appears to be overseeing the album, even formed an “informal” supergroup called the Gumbo, featuring a roster of New Orleans talent including Jon Batiste, Ledisi, Trombone Shorty, and PJ Morton.
Kanye West also produced a track for the album, though it’s still unclear whether it will make the final cut.
When Tha Carter VI finally arrives, it will mark Wayne’s first full-length release since 2020’s Funeral, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. All signs point to it being a bold and ambitious next chapter in Lil Wayne’s ever-evolving legacy.
