Lil Wayne’s Daughter Rips Critics Following Dad’s SNL Performance
Many fans were disappointed in the quality of the SNL performance. That led to a barrage of hateful comments toward the NOLA Native. However, Weezy’s daughter, Reginae Carter, was quick to come to his defense.
“Yall are some d riders! My dad has been having fun performing for years! He is truly himself when he hits the stage,” she said in the comments section of the Shade Room’s Instagram page.
“Go play with y’all mf kids .. he collected a check after this .. what y’all get for hating? Not a damn thing.”
Nicki Minaj Outraged By Lil Wayne Snub
With the 2025 Super Bowl in Wayne’s hometown, many expected him to be selected as the halftime show performer. It is one of the few feats he has yet to achieve in his illustrious career.
But to maybe people’s surprise, Weezy was not selected as the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer in New Orleans. Instead, they went with a different rap star, Kendrick Lamar, who’s “Not Like Us” ruled the charts in 2024 as showcased by his five Grammys in 2025. Even though the decision was viewed as justifiable by some, others, such as former Young Money artist, Nicki Minaj were still upset.
“Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego,” she said. “Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!! Nola what’s good?!!!!!!”
She also posted:
“One n**** took a knee The other n***** took the bag. He gon get you ‘n******’ in line every fkng time.”
Wayne also admitted that being snubbed for Lamar was a decision that hurt.
“It hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for automatically mentally putting myself in that position as somebody told me that was my position. But I thought there was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt,” Weezy said after Lamar was announced as the performer.
