It only took seven years. But Lil Yachty has finally responded to the lyric where rap artist Eminem name-dropped him.
Lil Yachty Sounds Off on Eminem Name-Dropping Him
However, Yachty’s response to the bar is not what most people expected it to be. During a recent appearance on Tea Time with Raven and Miranda, The Concrete Boys founder explained why it felt “amazing” to be mentioned by the Detroit rap legend.
“Eminem actually dissed me, but I thought it was amazing,” Yachty said. “If you say my name, it’s like, you could’ve said anyone’s name. So, you’re saying my name? I’m like, ‘That’s kinda fire.'”

The song where Slim Shady name drops Yachty is on his 2018 track, The Ringer. On the song, he raps:
I can see why people like Lil’ Yachty, but not me, though
Not even dissin’, it just ain’t for me
All I am simply is just an emcee
Maybe “Stan” just isn’t your cup of tea
Maybe your cup’s full of syrup and lean
Speaking strictly from a standpoint of context, it did not really appear that Eminem was dissing Yachty. Rather, it seemed like he was using him as an example of what modern-day rap fans are listening to. And admitted that it just wasn’t for him.
However, fans on social media appeared to be torn about the context.
“Em has used damn near every relevant rapper’s name in a bar at some point lol,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Wasn’t really a diss tho he just said he can see why ppl like him just not his cup of tea musically,” another user added.
“Yachty clears this final boss co-worker music legend,” a third user said.
Either way, it doesn’t seem like Yachty took much offense to it. But instead saw it as an honor.
