Logo designer Allan Peters has spoken out after receiving backlash for sharing a screenshot of a private DM from A$AP Rocky regarding potential design work.
According to Peters, Rocky reached out to inquire about his rates for revising a logo. Excited about the possibility of working with the Harlem rapper and entrepreneur, Peters posted a screenshot of the message publicly.
“He sent me a new business inquiry. I got excited, I posted it. I thought he’d take it as a compliment,” Peters explained.
Peters said he viewed the post as a friendly gesture and didn’t expect Rocky to have an issue with the private exchange being shared. However, Rocky reportedly contacted him and asked that the post be removed.
“I thought it was a friendly thing to do. He didn’t take it as such and asked me to take down the post,” Peters said. “I took it down. I apologized to him.”
The situation has since sparked conversation online about privacy, professionalism and whether private celebrity business inquiries should remain confidential unless both parties agree to make them public.

What Happened With Them?
On Instagram, a graphic designer named Allan Peters got a DM from Rocky asking for artwork.
“Good morning Allan,” Rocky messaged. “How much do you charge for brand logo revisions. Assuming you would be willing to do so, I’d be honored, love your work. God bless.”
Peters seemed to get ahead of himself, posting the screenshot of the DM on Instagram in disbelief.
Rocky got word of the post and didn’t not appreciate private conversations leaked.
“This is just distasteful, well I guess we won’t be working, best of luck buddy,” Rocky commented.
