50 Cent has an ongoing feud with Maino, Jim Jones, Faboulous, and Dave East. Also known as the crew of the Let’s Rap About It podcast. During a recent taping of the show, Maino made some interesting comments about the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ creator. As it relates to his toughness.
Maino Questions 50 Cent’s Toughness During Recent Rant
Maino starts by talking about the “respect” that he has for 50 Cent as a person. However, he questions the “gangster” persona that has followed him throughout his rap career.
“I respect you as a businessman, I respect you as a man, and I respect you for what you’ve done for n***as. But, I don’t know anything about any gangster sh*t. I don’t know anything about that. I’m a n***a that you’ve got to show me that,” he said during a recent taping of the podcast.
When 50 Cent burst on the scene in the early 2000s, he did so by portraying himself as the boogeyman of rap. He often referred to himself as “bulletproof.” Due to a story about him being shot nine times in an ambush that he survived. But amid his multiple feuds, others like Papoose have questioned the validity of his story. Maino goes on to add that just because a person portrays a gangster doesn’t make it their true personality.
“Just because a n***a showin’ gun imagery don’t mean he really was part of gun violence,” he added.
The Brooklyn rapper echoes a similar sentiment on his new song Bleed Like Us. Which aims at 50.
“Only white kids in the ‘burbs thought you was gangsta / We f*cked with you ’cause of your story, thought you was like us / Just to find out this whole time you was the wanksta,” he raps on the track.
At the time of writing, 50 Cent has not responded to the recent comments made by Maino.
