Jay-Z claimed it would be “all offense” for him in 2026. Luckily for his fans, that could culminate with a new album.
Hill Hints at New Jay-Z Album Being in The Works
On the Wednesday (June 3) episode of the Joe Budden Podcast, co-host Marc Lamont Hill said that he spoke to a source close to Hov. And the source all but confirmed that the Roc Nation founder has a new album on the way.
“I talked to somebody last night who’s pretty close to it… They couldn’t give me any more evidence than I asked for, but they said it seems pretty certain now,” Hill said on Wednesday’s podcast in a clip shared by HotNewHipHop.
Hill later asserts that Hov debuting his new hairstyle at the Roots Picnic back in May was a dead giveaway that he had new music on the way.
“The hair did it for me, but then I heard somebody who’s working on the album, allegedly, saying that it’s coming out soon,” he added.
Budden and Parks also agreed that Hov switching up the hair confirmed for them that music was on the way.

Of course, Hill’s bombshell announcement sent social media into a frenzy.
“If he cuts his hair off and drops an album, it’s going to be problematic for everyone,” one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“He definitely tricked me with the GQ interview lol. But… I think we’re back,” a second user chimed in.
“Damn, so you’re telling me that even Jay-Z needs to diss Drake to rollout his album?” a third user remarked.
The Roots Picnic was just one of four performances that Jay-Z has lined up for this summer. He is set to perform three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium in July. It could all be part of his album rollout.
