Mariah Carey has set the internet on fire once again with another classic story.
Mariah Carey Had a “Wish” To Date Tupac Shakur
The songstress recently appeared on the Brown Bag Mornings show to promote her forthcoming album, which drops next month. Mariah has enjoyed a pretty illustrious career. But she does have one regret. During her appearance on the morning show, she revealed that she wishes that she had dated late rap star Tupac Shakur.
She recalled being smitten during their interaction at the 1996 American Music Awards.
“Well, he said it like ‘Hi, Mariah,’ and I was like [ahhh],” she said.
She also noted that the interaction left her with “more than butterflies”.
However, because she was on hosting duties at the famed award show, she had to keep her emotions intact.
“I was hosting the AMAs that year, so I had to keep going back and forth, but I wanted to keep going back and forth because that happened,” she added.
“I love Hip Hop and I love the moments that we’re talking about, especially ‘Hi, Mariah.’ So yeah, it was a pretty major moment for me to say the least.”
Carey also said that the two never had a chance to go on a date. But it was a “wish” that never came true.
Carey’s 16th studio album, Here For It All, will be available on September 26.
Mariah Dishes On Keeping Her Kids “Grounded”
Things did eventually work out for Mariah, though. She is the mother of fraternal twins, Monroe Cannon and Moroccan Scott Cannon, whom she shares with famed television executive Nick Cannon. They have a combined net worth of over $400 million.
But Mariah says, despite the embarrassment of riches between her and Nick, they still want to make sure that they keep their kids “grounded,” and make sure they know that they have to work for the things they want.
“It’s hard, but I try to keep them grounded so they don’t think everything is just handed to them,” PEOPLE wrote.
“Right now it’s like, ‘I want this,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re asking me for something that costs $20.’ I can’t even imagine having, like, one dollar as a kid because we didn’t have money going around. So they have to appreciate those things.”
