Despite serving as a producer on the very film that showcased the worst in his father, Marlon Jackson has set out to clear the air on his father. His docuseries will aim to tell another side to the Joe Jackson story.
What Is Marlon Jackson Doing?
Jackson is set to create, produce, and narrate the docuseries which will premiere on BLK Prime. The eight-episode series titled, The Manager, The Mythology, The Legend will reportedly position Joe Jackson as a visionary rather than a tyrant.
This comes off the heels of the success of Michael, which used Joe Jackson as the main antagonist. The film shows Jackson, played by Colman Domingo, forcing his children into the music business, yelling at his wife, and abusing the children with a belt.
In a previous interview with People with Marlon and his brother Jackie, the brothers claimed there’s many misconceptions about their father.
“A lot of people think my father forced this on us,” Jackson said. “No, he did not. We wanted to do it. “I want the people to understand when they come see [Michael] that this family is no different than any other family. We have our ups and downs, trials, tribulations. And we learned to agree to disagree. And it’s a huge family.”
The series does not have a release date at this time.
