Love it or hate it, JAY-Z will be performing at the Super Bowl this year. The Hip-Hop icon will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on February 14th, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

This makes sense, considering the year he’s had. A three day sold out Yankee stadium, along with viral Roots Picnic performance, and, notably, a limited European tour has him more active than he’s been in years.
A JAY-Z Halftime show opens many possibilities: Beyonce, Memphis Bleek, Frank Ocean, Eminem, even, maybe, Kanye? All guests are on the table.
But, Mase has a theory that JAY didn’t wanna perform at all. Instead, he had to.
On his show with Cam’ron, Mase explained why JAY seemingly got backed into a corner.
“Who could’ve done it? Kanye? Drake? Chris Brown? people he don’t like. Hov we onto you Hov, you need more people Hov that’s what you told me. But I dig it man it’s his show, he gets to pick himself he sat with himself and told his self we need to do this show,” Mase said.
Of course, this contradicts the NFL’s stance where Roger Goodell said he asked JAY to finally do it, but hey, we’ll let Mase have fun.
Mase argues that JAŸ-Z passed on Drake, Chris Brown and Ye for the Super Bowl halftime show because he doesn't like them.
