New York is ready to party like it’s 1999! The Knicks are heading to the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years. And the city couldn’t be more excited about it.
Cam & Mase Explain Why They Aren’t Excited About Knicks Finals Berth
After their Game 4 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Knicks fans flooded the streets, celebrating the fact that they are four wins away from a world title. But after decades of trauma, New York City rappers Cam’ron and Mase are skeptical of celebrating too early. And warn Knicks fans that they’ve seen this movie before. And the ending, historically, has not been good.
“I’m not excited at all. We actually predicted this at the beginning of the season… when it comes to Knicks fans, everything’s a celebration,” Mase said in a clip caught by KillaKrewww on X.
He did, however, shout out New York for doing “exactly what they’re supposed to do.”
Cam’ron also added: “Don’t get me wrong. You went further than you actually did last year … [but] we predicted this at the beginning of the season. Mase and I predicted that the Knicks would get to the Finals. Primarily because Jayson Tatum wasn’t playing, Tyrese Haliburton was hurt.”
Cam’ron continued by saluting the Knicks’ “historic run,” but said that he isn’t “excited” because they are exactly where he expected them to be.
Ma$e & Cam’ron reacted to the Knicks making the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999 after SWEEPING the Cavs and said they’re still NOT excited because they’ve seen this story too many times before 😭🏀👀

Now the Knicks await the winner of the Western Conference Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs. With that series being tied two games a piece and New York clinching a playoff berth 10 days before the series starts, they will already have an advantage when the series kicks off on June 3.
