Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill is many things. But one thing that he has never been is short on words. And he had something to say to NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe.
Meek Mill Clowns Shannon Sharpe Over ESPN Firing
On Wednesday, July 30, several outlets confirmed that the Super Bowl Champion had been fired from ESPN. In the wake of Sharpe’s termination, Meek Mill did not hesitate to call out the former Baltimore Ravens star.
“Y’all too old to be getting fired fr……,” Meek wrote on social media.

Of course, fans had a lot to say in the comments section of his post.
“What do you call what happened to your career?” one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“It’s not about age, bro. If you’re no longer good for the business, you get fired!” another user added.
“You’re too old to have your old music still owned by a cop and doing bunny hops for billionaires. Have them buy your catalog at least if you’re gettin’ Diddy’d. Nasty work,” another person said.
Hall of Famer Sounds Off After Firing
Sharpe’s termination comes in the wake of his legal issues with OnlyFans model, Gabrille Zuniga. Zuniga accused Sharpe of sexual assault in a $50 million lawsuit filed earlier this year. In July, Sharpe and Zuniga settled. And while the settlement amount has yet to be confirmed, what she received was enough for her to announce her retirement from OnlyFans.
As for Sharpe, although he had been let go from the network, he won’t be out of work. He also has created his own lane with shows such as Club Shay Shay and Nightcap with former NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco.
Sharpe appeared on Nightcap following the announcement. And he noted that his biggest regret in this entire debacle is being fired before his brother Sterling Sharpe’s Hall of Fame induction.
“I found out this information a little earlier in the week,” Sharpe explained, “and really the only thing that I really asked is, ‘Guys, could we wait until Monday?’ My brother’s going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame… I said, ‘This coming out will overshadow everything he’s worked his entire life for.’ And, unfortunately, it didn’t happen that way.”
