The explosive verdict in the Diddy trial has caused plenty of reactions. For those tardy to the party, the music mogul was found not guilty. Of racketeering, trafficking of Cassie, and the trafficking of Jane Doe. He was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution-related to Cassie and was found guilty of the same charges relating to Jane Doe.
Meek Mill Hits Back at Diddy Rumors
The trial may be officially over. But even amid the split verdict, some of the industry’s top artists are still trying to separate themselves from the Bad Boy Records founder. The latest to attempt to clear their name is rap star, Meek Mill.
The Dreams & Nightmares artist took to social media on July 4 to reassure fans that his relationship with Diddy was strictly on a business level. Nothing more, nothing less.
“I’m being literally upfront about it, talking about it in the open while [Diddy’s] on federal trial to make it known that I am not affiliated with Puff Daddy’s sexual life or personal life and never have been,” Meek said, during a July 4 interview with Complex.
A former associate of Diddy, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones initially filed a lawsuit against the music mogul. And in the lawsuit, Jones said that Diddy mentioned having a sexual interaction with a “rapper from Philadelphia who dated Nicki Minaj.” Two descriptors that Meek fits the bill for.
Meek further challenged the notion that the allegations were even something that could occur. Because he always has people around him who would protect him from such a violation.
“When I come around from Philadelphia, I always come around with three, four people,” he explained. “I’ve never been in these types of environments without my guys around. A lot of people, they said sex parties. I attended New Year’s parties. I never attended [Diddy’s] white parties.”
