Megan Thee Stallion and NBA star Klay Thompson are officially stepping out together — and doing it in high style.
The new couple made their red carpet debut on Wednesday, July 16, at Megan’s Inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City. Megan, 30, stunned in a sleek black halter-neck gown, accentuated by a silver asymmetrical belt detail around her hips. Thompson, 35, complemented her look with a timeless black-and-white tuxedo.
Speaking with PEOPLE, Megan gushed about their connection:
“Oh, we met and it was such a meet-cute — it was like a f—— movie,” she said with a smile. “I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life.”
The gala, hosted by Megan’s Pete & Thomas Foundation, was created to honor the legacy of her late parents, Joseph Pete III and Holly Thomas. The organization focuses on creating meaningful change in the lives of women, children, senior citizens, and underserved communities — especially in Megan’s hometown of Houston. Its key initiatives center around education, housing, health & wellness, and community goodwill.
Reflecting on the emotional significance of the night, Megan shared:
“I feel like they can see what I’m doing right now,” she said. “I feel like they’re looking down on me from heaven and saying, ‘Yes, daughter!’ I feel like my momma’s so happy.”
“I feel like she’s clapping,” she added. “My great-grandma is so happy. My daddy is like, ‘This is exactly what I knew my child was gonna do.’ I feel like they’re super proud.”
The night was a celebration of love, legacy, and purpose — and Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson made sure to shine every step of the way.
