When you look at Drake’s discography, he has dropped several classic albums throughout the years. But some just stand out more than others do. His third studio album, Nothing Was The Same, is one of the projects that separates itself.
Method Man Reveals Why Wu-Tang Refused Drake Feature
One of the more revered tracks on the 2013 project was Drake’s song Wu-Tang Forever. A track that paid homage to the iconic rap group and samples their hit song, It’s Yourz.
For years, many people have wondered why Wu-Tang itself was not featured on the track. During a recent appearance on 7 pm in Brooklyn, famed Wu-Tang member, Method Man, revealed why.
Method Man began by noting how he thinks that Drake is a “dope artist,” who puts out “great music.”
However, in his words, Method Man said that he, along with several of the other group members, tried to get on board with being on the track. But in the end, they just were not feeling it.
“But when he sent the record, we were overseas. He did send the record. Some brothers were trying to write to it and sh*t,” Method Man started. “I’m sitting there, and I’m like, ‘I don’t like it.’ I was like, ‘What does this have to do with ‘Wu-Tang Forever?’ I’m not questioning his artistic ability or anything. I’m just saying for my taste, that was more or less like, ‘I’m not getting on that.'”
Method Man was asked on the 7PM in Brooklyn podcast whether there was supposed to be a Wu-Tang Clan and Drake collaboration on the *Nothing Was the Same* album, specifically on the track titled ‘Wu-Tang Forever’ pic.twitter.com/2MwxzFjvvY

After making the revelation about not being featured on the song, fans had mixed reactions to Wu-Tang’s passing on the feature.
“No bull, wtf does this song gotta do with Wu Tang? And how tf are these old school NY n****s supposed to make something outta that?!” one person said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Ni***s be reaching the hardest to mention Drake in these interviews. Talmbout a song from a decade ago. Man, watch out,” another user added.
Despite the group not being featured on the track, Drake’s song still saw major success. It peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at the 52nd spot.
