Metro Boomin dropped his latest album, A Futuristic Summer, last Friday, August 1. And despite the anticipation for the project, many fans feel like Metro Boomin underdelivered.
Metro Boomin Rips Album Critics
In response to those who have been critical, Metro Boomin had a strong message to convey. Noting that his album was meant to pay homage to Metro Atlanta’s party era. So it was a project, so the album was made for people who want to “dance” and “have fun.”
“A lot of y’all get no b****es, and it shows,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “This mixtape is not for you if you don’t: Like to twerk (or get twerked on). Want to dance, Want to have fun, Party like a rockstar, Surf & swag.”
He also added:
“If you never went out and competed with ya boys to see who could get the most numbers, then you might wanna sit this one out. If your homeboy never had to hold you up at the teen party while u were getting twerked on, then you might wanna sit this one out.”
He continued:
“If you never intentionally wore your clothes with the tags still on, then you might wanna sit this one out, If you started listening to rap music in 2017, then you might wanna sit this one out. If you never had to write a number down, period, then you might wanna sit this one out.”

Still, his firestorm of hellacious tweets did not stop fans from continuing to criticize him.
“That’s one of the cringest series of tweets I’ve seen on this app. Maybe people are ‘sitting it out’ because his album is pure ass,” one fan said.
However, others who grew up in the era that Metro’s new album pays homage to saw things from a different perspective.
“If you weren’t a teenager or young adult in Atlanta 08-13, you just don’t get it,” another user added.
