This isn’t the first time that Rozier’s name has been mentioned in connection with illegal sports gambling. In January, the feds made an inquiry into Rozier about unusual betting activity related to his stint with the Charlotte Hornets. There were alleged claims that Rozier manipulated his performance during the 2022-23 season.
However, the NBA did its own investigation into Rozier and found no “violation of NBA rules,” according to NBA spokesman Mike Bass.
“In March 2023, the NBA was alerted to unusual betting activity related to Terry Rozier’s performance in a game between Charlotte and New Orleans,” Bass said in a statement. “The league conducted an investigation and did not find a violation of NBA rules. We are now aware of an investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York related to this matter and have been cooperating with that investigation.”
