While performing in Miami this past weekend, Wallen surprised the crowd by swapping out his usual walk-out track, the Durk-assisted “Broadway Girls,” for a remixed version of “Miami” from his I’m the Problem album. But it wasn’t the same “Miami” fans know from the project—this one featured two heavyweights: Lil Wayne and Rick Ross.
“Shout out to Lil Wayne and to Rick Ross for hopping on that,” Wallen told the crowd, per Country Central. “I need to figure out when to drop that.”
After the show, Wallen shared two Instagram videos featuring the rappers’ verses. The first, captioned “Party in the 305,” highlighted Lil Wayne’s verse while showing moments from the show in Miami. A second post followed, spotlighting Rick Ross’ verse and featuring highlights from the hitmaker’s second night in the city, which included a fun moment with former Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor. Wallen referenced one of his lyrics in the caption, “Turns out there is some stuff for a redneck to do in Miami.”
The collab feels like a natural next step for Wayne, who’s been bending genres his entire career. His latest effort Tha Carter VI had him linking with names like Miley Cyrus, Bono, Machine Gun Kelly, even his own son. Ross bringing that Maybach luxury talk over Wallen’s country-trap vibes? That’s the kind of hybrid moment both hip-hop and country spaces have been leaning into more lately.
No official date yet on when the remix drops, but if the Miami crowd’s reaction was any indication, Wallen’s about to add another chart moment to his already eclectic run.
