Musikfest announced Monday that T.I. and DaBaby will headline the Wednesday, Aug. 5 show at the Wind Creek Steel Stage as part of its summer run.
Launched in 1984, the long-running Bethlehem, PA festival has grown into the nation’s largest free concert — a massive August celebration of performing and visual arts. The nine-day event typically features more than 400 artists delivering 500+ performances across 16 stages (with 15 free to the public). Last year alone pulled in nearly 1.45 million attendees.
It’s a welcome change of pace to see the multifaceted Atlanta rapper devote his energy to performing for sold out crowds rather than beef with 50 Cent.
Their recent back-and-forth started after T.I. claimed on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast that the two had agreed to a Verzuz battle — with Tip set to break the news. According to him, 50 later played coy about the plan, which sparked shots on social media and in music, at one point escalating to include wives, children, and even a deceased mother.
But if you ask Tip like TMZ did last weekend, he’s seemingly already moved past it.
“Man, that s***’s so last week,” he said. “We got the No. 1 song in the country — ‘Let ’Em Know.’”
For now, it looks like attendees of this year’s Musikfest can look forward to a locked in T.I. this August.
