Nashville, Tennessee, has been chosen as the official host site of Super Bowl LXIV.
Nashville Chosen as Host Site For Super Bowl LXIV
During the NFL’s spring league meetings, owners approved Nashville as the host city. In a unanimous 32-0 vote, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This will be Nashville’s first time hosting the big game. And it couldn’t come at a more perfect time. The new Nissan Stadium, a 60,000-seat, $2.1 billion project, is currently under construction and scheduled to open next season. So it should be fully functional in 2030 when Super Bowl LXIV rolls into town.
Following the announcement, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell referenced how Music City hosted the NFL Draft in 2019. And called it “one of the greatest fan events.”
“The 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville was one of the greatest fan events in our history,” Goodell said in a statement via ESPN. “Super Bowl LXIV at the new stadium is the next step in this remarkable football journey. The vision of [Titans owner] Amy Adams Strunk and the Tennessee Titans helped make this moment possible. With great partners at the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. and Tennessee Titans, we can’t wait to put on an unforgettable show in 2030.”
Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk also expressed her excitement about the opportunity to put Nashville at the center stage of one of the biggest sporting events of the year.
“We cannot wait for our community to experience an event of this magnitude and for the world to see the energy, hospitality, and culture that make our city so special on a global stage,” she said. “We look forward to bringing an unforgettable Super Bowl experience to Nashville together.”
