NBA Youngboy and Funny Marco are sitting down for an interview that drops Tuesday. However, clips to promote the exchange revealed some worrisome information about the rap superstar.
Marco asks YoungBoy about his music output and how many more albums he plans to drop, leading to a discovery.
“Music is not something I’m focused on,” YoungBoy replied. “The doctor told me the left side of my heart was swollen. That explains the music, though.”
It’s unclear from the editing if the heart condition is the sole reason for YoungBoy’s break, as the 26-year old has been prolific with his output. Several years, he’s dropped more than 3 albums. He’s also constantly dropping new singles.
The full interview comes out on Marco’s page as part of his show, Open Thoughts.
The discussion appears to be much more serious than Marco’s usual work, with YoungBoy reflecting on depression, why he lives, and hopelessness. He also discusses becoming a better person.
Commenters have already pointed out though that this could be getting taken out of context due to the nature of Marco’s reviews and the editing. They also assert that YoungBoy’s drug use could be a major factor. Additionally, YoungBoy says music isn’t the focus, which doesn’t necessarily mean he’s taking a hiatus.

NBA YoungBoy & Beef
On Instagram NBA YoungBoy played a snippet from a new song he’s working on. The track sends a shot at Gillie Da Kid, who YoungBoy has had issues with in the past.
“Had thought bout killing Gillie but that b**** ain’t kill none about his son,” YoungBoy raps.
This references the tragic death of Gillie’s son, Devin Spady, BKA as YNG Cheese, who was murdered back in 2023 in Olney, Philadelphia.
After his son’s death, Gillie had YoungBoy on as a guest for his Million Dollars Worth Of Game podcast, where things got emotional. YoungBoy asked Gillie how he felt about life after burying his son, to which Gillie opened up about the hardships of continuing on.
To many viewers, it seemed like a human moment between the two. However, allegedly, Gillie released the episode without running it by YoungBoy, which upset the rapper. In a video, Gillie lays in his bed, taunting an unnamed rapper about releasing the episode without “running it by them.” That rapper was apparently YB.
