After Bad Bunny’s record-setting performance at the 2026 Super Bowl halftime show, fans are already excited to see who will headline the big game in 2027. R&B star Ne-Yo believes that it should be Chris Brown.
Ne-Yo Co-Signs Chris Brown Headlining 2027 Halftime Show
During a recent appearance on Big Boy TV, Ne-Yo revealed that he eventually wants to headline the halftime show. But he can wait until 2028 to get his shine. As for the headliner in 2028? He believes that honor should belong to Chris Brown.
“With zero ego, I say this, I feel like Chris [Brown] should get the next one definitely. Then, I’ll go after Chris,” Ne-Yo said.“Chris deserves that now!”
Chris Brown has an endless R&B classic. So putting together a 13-minute set would be seamless. Hits like Run It!, Party!, and No Guidance are sure to have any stadium rocking.
And Chris Brown seems to agree. He appeared to hint at the NFL needing his services once Bad Bunny had concluded his set.
“I THINK IT’S SAFE TO SAY.. THEY NEED ME ! ” he wrote in a social media post on Sunday Night (February 8).
Many people think that Chris Brown is a no-brainer for the halftime show. However, many of those same fans are skeptical that it will happen. And it is not for any musically related reason. The main deterrent is his 2009 assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna.
Jay-Z has a well-documented close relationship with Rihanna.
He also currently serves as the NFL’s Live Music Entertainment Strategist through a partnership with his Roc Nation agency. Through this partnership, Jay-Z has full control over selecting Super Bowl halftime performers and producing the show.
Because Jay-Z ultimately selects the halftime show performer every year, many have been skeptical that he would ever select brown. Even if he is deserving of it.
