Most rap fans considered Kendrick Lamar the victor over Drake after their viral feud in 2024. But new Miami Heat star Giannis Antetokounmpo offered a different perspective during a recent stream.
Giannis Offers New Perspective on Drake, Kendrick Feud
Giannis appeared on stream with Neon on Monday (July 6). And one of the topics that came up was Kendrick and Drake’s feud. And even though Giannis admitted that he initially thought that Kendrick was the winner, he said that Drake dropping his trilogy of albums (Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour) caused him to have a change of heart.
“I believe in the beginning you say Kendrick, but these three albums that he released, if you listen to them, oh my goodness,” he said in a clip caught by Kurrco on X.

Of course, Giannis’ comments sent many fans on social media into an uproar.
“Them albums ain’t got s**t to do with the battle. Ni**a is 2 years too late,” one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I’m starting to see this new narrative that people are using Drake’s Ws outside the battle to justify him losing the rap beef, and it makes no sense,” a second user chimed in.
“If Giannis thinks Drake’s beef is finally well‑done, I’m just waiting for the halftime show where he drops a slam dunk to “ICEMAN,”” a third user chimed in.
After releasing the three projects on May 15, Drake became the first artist in history to occupy the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 200.
