The championship celebration continues for the newly crowned NBA champion, the New York Knicks.
Fresh off capturing the franchise’s first title in 53 years, the Knicks are set to appear on Nick Cannon’s comedy improv show Wild-N-Out. In what will be called Knicks vs. Nick: The Wild ‘N Out Championship Battle for the Belt.
Knicks Set to Appear on Nick Cannon’s Wild-N-Out
Although the Knicks are the Kings of the NBA, he doesn’t believe that the champs will fare as well in his arena.
“The Knicks have proven they rule the court, but let’s see if they can handle the court of comedy,” Cannon said as caught by NBA Insider Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson. “New York has had an incredible year of winning, but on June 28, they’re stepping into my world. It’s Knicks vs. Nick, and only one ‘Nick’ is walking out with the belt.”
This season has been a season of proving the doubters wrong for New York. Amid their championship win, the comments made by Las Vegas Aces coach Becky Hammon have resurfaced. She cast doubt on whether Knicks star Jalen Brunson could lead his team to a championship because of his size.
Hammon was confronted about her past comments during a recent media availability session and congratulated the New York’s point guard on proving history wrong. But she stood ten toes down on her past statement.
“Jalen, all he did was prove history wrong. He proves he’s an outlier,” Hammon said via New York Post. “So you can put his name next to Steph Curry and Isiah Thomas, and I thought he played brilliantly, especially down the stretch.”
She also added:
“I mean, he was that 1A dude. But apologize, I’m never gonna apologize for having an opinion. That’s what ESPN pays me for.”
