Nicki Minaj Calls Out Jay-Z On New Lil Wayne Song
However, Wayne shocked the world on Wednesday, June 11. A midnight shock release featured Nicki Minaj on his remix to Banned From NO. And on the song the “Pink Friday” creator appears to take shots at Jay-Z.
“They know I don’t decline so they never face-card her. French Vanilla hazelnut in my Starbucks, NFL, fire some n****s, and then call us”
The bar seems to be a shot aimed at the rap legend. Given that his Roc Nation label has a partnership with the NFL, where they choose the halftime performer for each year’s Super Bowl. However, this year Kendrick Lamar was chosen as the performer, despite the event taking place in Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana.
After the news came out that Wayne had been snubbed for Kendrick, Minaj took to social media to call out the decision.
“Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego,” she said.
“Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!! Nola what’s good?!!!!!!”
She also posted “One n**** took a knee The other n*****took the bag. He gon get you ‘n******’ in line every fkng time.”
Wayne also admitted he felt “hurt,” by the snub.
“It broke me, and I’m just trying to put myself back together,” Lil Wayne said.
“That hurt, it hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown, for automatically mentally putting myself in that position. I thought there was nothing better — that spot, on that stage, on that platform.
