Multiple online petitions calling for Nicki Minaj to be deported from the United States to her native Trinidad have gained significant traction, collectively surpassing 100,000 signatures. The campaigns, launched on Change.org, stem from backlash over the rapper’s recent political alignment and past controversies.
The first petition, started on July 9, has amassed more than 74,000 signatures. It cites Minaj’s alleged erratic behavior on social media and her marriage to a registered sex offender as reasons she should no longer reside in the U.S. The second petition emerged just days after Minaj’s surprise appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest on December 27, where she praised Donald Trump and made comments that many interpreted as disparaging toward members of the LGBTQ+ community. That petition has gathered over 30,000 signatures.
“Deporting Nicki Minaj back to Trinidad would serve as a reminder that public figures need to be accountable for their words and the broader impact they have on diverse communities,” the petition description reads.
Minaj’s apparent embrace of MAGA politics at AmericaFest has left many fans confused and disappointed, sparking widespread debate across social media. Since the event, the rapper has yet to fully explain her reasoning or directly address the growing backlash, leaving questions about her stance and intentions unanswered.
