We are less than two months away from the 2026 Met Gala . One of the most star-studded events on the entertainment industry’s calendar. But there could be one major omission from this year’s event. That person is a rap star, Nicki Minaj.
Nicki Minaj Reportedly Being ‘Shut Out’ of Met Gala
According to a new report from Rob Shutter of Naughty But Nice, the Met Gala committee decided to “freeze out” the Pink Friday creator. Due to her recent political affiliation
“Nicki’s invitations didn’t just slow down — they vanished,” one source said to the shutter of Minaj’s omission. “Hollywood stopped returning her calls. This isn’t subtle anymore. She’s been shut out.”
Minaj has aligned herself with the Trump administration over the past couple of months. In January, she declared herself his “number one fan” and appeared with him at a Treasury Department event to support the “Trump Accounts” initiative.
Multiple sources have pointed to that as the reason that she has been frozen out.
“Hollywood doesn’t forgive this kind of alignment — especially when it’s loud and unapologetic,” another source said to Shutter, with another adding “Once she went full MAGA on that stage, the door didn’t just close — it locked.”
However, there could be an additional layer to the reason that Nicki won’t be at this year’s event.
Beyoncé is set to return to the star-studded event for the first time in a decade. She will also serve as a co-chairman along with former tennis star, Venus Williams, and Actress Nicole Kidman.
Minaj has been extremely vocal about her disdain for Beyoncé’s husband, Jay-Z. Another source added that her “war” with his record label, Roc Nation, was the reason “nobody wants to touch” her.
At the time of writing, Minaj has not responded to the report.
