The hip-hop world is still buzzing about the Verzuz matchup between Cash Money and No Limit Records at ComplexCon in Las Vegas on Saturday (October 25). But in the fallout of the star-studded event, some people are less happy than others. Such as No Limit artist, Mercedes.
Mercedes Threatens Lawsuit After Being Excluded From Verzuz
In a post after the event had ended, Mercedes expressed her frustration about not being invited on stage to perform her song ‘I Can Tell’, especially because she was backstage during the event. Instead, only Mac performed the song, which originally also featured Ms. Peaches and Jamo.
Mercedes said she felt especially disrespected. Because she did not give consent for the song to be performed at the event. Especially without her.
“I don’t know how the f**k somebody else got to sing my song, but not a single one of theirs,” Mercedes said in the social media post (Via WGVL Channel 6). “This s**t is f***ed up and foul. But it’s cool, ’cause I promise I got something for everybody. […] Why do they have me and Timbaland on the side of the stage? […] These b***hes didn’t let me go on. That sounds deliberate.”
Apparently Mercedes was not invited on the #VERZUZ stage during No Limit’s performance of ‘I Can Tell (U Ain’t Say 2 Much)’, despite being backstage. MAC performed it alone

Mercedes says she will be taking legal action because she owns the rights to the song pic.twitter.com/fz2GwIeef0
She also threatened to take legal action because of the song being performed without her permission. And said that she was hurt by the entire debacle. Noting that she was “trying to hold back tears” during the video. And appeared to take a shot at Master P in the process.
“Something just ain’t right. Y’all can expect a lawsuit because I did not give permission for anybody else to perform my song,” she added. “So it’s going to be a f***ing problem. […] I’m over here trying to hold back tears and everything. […] But please know that n***a been bad business. He’s been janking promoters and No Limit, so f**k him.”
