Tuesday Bronx rapper Cardi B claimed that she was put in a chokehold by NYPD. Sources close to the Cardi B say she was riding in a new Bentley SUV around Columbus Circle in Manhattan when another driver hit her car. Cardi allegedly got out of the car with her cousin, who was also in the vehicle with her, and started arguing with the driver, and that’s when the NYPD officer allegedly grabbed her with his arms around her neck and pinned her against the Bentley.
The officer let Cardi go and left the scene without writing up a report or issuing any citations. NYPD Assistant Commissioner Peter Donald tells TMZ that NYPD conducted a full investigation into Cardi B’s allegation that an officer put her in a choke hold Tuesday and slammed her up against her SUV. Donald says they can’t find any proof it happened.
Donald says commanders in each precinct around Columbus Circle, looked into all records and surveillance video of the area and could not find a thing to support her account.
Here’s what Cardi’s boyfriend Offset had to say about the situation.
