Offset Gets Honest About His Relationship With Quavo
The Migos split following the murder of group member Takeoff in November 2022. The rap star was killed after an altercation in a bowling alley. Following Takeoff’s death, the group split up. Leading fans to speculate that there was a rift between Quavo and Offset.
During a recent interview, Offset gave an update on the current state of their relationship. The ex-Migos member notes that no matter what issues he and Quavo may have, they remain family. And will always have each other’s backs.
“It’s the internet trying to do some old sh*t, but with us, it ain’t about that,” he explained, per Uproxx. “We gotta holla at each other in the day, at the end of the day, man. That’s family at the end of the day, man. You’re gonna bump heads with your family sometime. In the day, a n**** ain’t finna play with him, or a n**** ain’t finna play with me.”
The Migos are no more. But that hasn’t stopped Quavo and Offset from remaining musically relevant. The two of them have carved out their own lanes as solo artists. However, legendary Atlanta music producer Jermaine Dupri feels like they are better as a duo.
“That hurt a lot of the city, period,” he said of Takeoff’s death. “The Migos breaking up was a bad situation for Atlanta because they were moving — and I think they’re better together anyway, me personally.”
Dupri also detailed his shock in the aftermath of Takeoff’s death. “It was really crazy for us. I ain’t think Atlanta n****s was gonna die,” he said. “An Atlanta rapper dying felt like ‘Aw damn, what the f**k is going on?’ It felt crazy to me.”
