Offset isn’t here for the Drake slander.
The former Migos rapper recently came to Drizzy’s defense on Instagram, clapping back at the wave of criticism that’s continued to trail the 6 God since his high-profile feud with Kendrick Lamar. “Da Boy is da boy,” Offset wrote. “Sh\*t ain’t gone change. All dat hating on another grown man who do more numbers than everybody is Diabolical !!!!”
Offset’s message comes at a time when debates about the battle’s outcome are still dominating timelines. As “Not Like Us” continues to run up numbers and spark block parties, more people are seemingly open to re-examining the narrative.
NBA champion Kyrie Irving also weighed in during a recent livestream, calling for people to stop constantly pitting the two rap titans against each other.
“We can’t keep tying in KDot to Drake all the time,” Kyrie said. “They both great in their own right.”
While Irving acknowledged the cultural dominance of Kendrick’s “Not Like Us,” he also made sure to remind folks of Drake’s legacy. “You’re talking about the boy himself,” he continued. “He transcended so many haters that were telling him he couldn’t amount to sh*t—and he ended up doing some legendary sh*t that won’t be topped.”
In a post-battle landscape where lines are still being drawn, it seems Drake still has a few unexpected co-signs in his corner.
