Rap star Offset dropped his latest album, Kiari, on Friday, August 22. And fans are already raving about the new project.
Offset Reflects on Takeoff’s Death on New Album
While Offset has been known for his not-so-humble demeanor in his music, he let his fans see a different side of him on the new album. On one of the tracks titled Never Let Go, which features John Legend, Offset reflects on the death of former Migos member Takeoff.
“Play back all the memories, hoping they don’t fade. Bando to the jet, jet to the stage. Hard to see my n***a in that grave, this s**t crazy. I give all this s**t back just to get you back.”
He also raps: “Can’t trust these n****s, f**k ’em, how I’m supposed to get over you? Ain’t been the same ’cause this pain f**k up everything.”
He also dropped the music video to accompany the track.

Takeoff was murdered in November 2022 after being shot during an altercation at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas. Since then, the group has split as Quavo and Offset have explored solo careers.
The Migos were a close-knit group. However, Takeoff and Quavo were blood-related as nephew and Uncle. Needless to say, they had a much different bond, so the death hit Quavo especially hard. Following his nephew’s death, Quavo said that sometimes he still “cries himself to sleep.”
“I miss him a lot and I love him,” Quavo said. “He knows I love him. That’s what we always know. So when you see me and you see me smiling or something like that, you don’t gotta ever think I forgot about him or I’ll forget about him. I think about him all the time. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep. And that’s it. I just know he’s here. If I can’t feel him, I just know he’s around.”
May Takeoff continue to rest in peace.
