Oschino has officially responded to Jay-Z after the Brooklyn icon appeared to take shots at him during his recent Roots Picnic appearance.
The former Roc-A-Fella affiliate dropped a diss track over Drake’s “Make Them Pay” instrumental, using the record to air out years of frustration with Hov while also defending Drake’s current place in hip-hop.
On the track, Oschino accuses Jay-Z of being jealous of Drake’s dominance, suggesting that Hov is bothered because Drake now “owns the light.” He also mocks Jay-Z’s appearance at Roots Picnic, joking that the Roc Nation boss showed up in Philly “looking like Norbit.”
Oschino also revisits old Roc-A-Fella issues, accusing Jay-Z of taking credit from artists around him and failing to properly acknowledge those who contributed to his success. He references Jay-Z’s past feud with Nas and claims Philly artists helped Hov during challenging moments in his career.
The diss gets even more personal as Oschino takes aim at Jay-Z’s relationship with Beyoncé, suggesting that the billionaire mogul has changed from the person he once knew. He closes the record with some of his most controversial bars, bringing up long-standing allegations involving children that some have claimed Jay-Z has not acknowledged or supported.
The diss track marks a major escalation in the ongoing back-and-forth and stands as one of the most direct responses yet to Jay-Z’s Roots Picnic comments.
