Papoose is not playing with his ex Remy Ma. Hollywood Unlocked is reporting that an April 18th letter revealed the New York rapper had his lawyers send a cease and desist to his ex, after tensions with his current girlfriend boxer Claressa Shields reached a breaking point.
In the letter, Papoose’s attorney called Remy’s lyrics “profane, insulting, and highly negative,” signaling out bars where she questioned his ghostwriting claims.
“The nerve of n****s claiming that they wrote those hits / when their whole career they ain’t never ghost wrote s***. Not for me or anybody else/ You always act like you helped a n****, go help yourself.”
The letter also called out her shots at Shields including the following.
“In competition w/ herself, I don’t know that b****.”
“You want to be a baddie but you ain’t bad enough.”
Papoose’s attorney argues the public disses are especially concerning because the two were already discussing non-disparagement provisions and claims the back-and-forth could negatively affect their daughter. The letter demanded Remy stop making allegedly defamatory or disparaging statements, remove the material already posted and warned that Papoose could seek to add a defamation claim to their case.

Shields & Papoose Vs. Remy Ma
In a post to her social media account on Monday (June 8), the boxing star said that she isn’t respecting any shots that don’t have her name directly attached.
“I’ve been addressed by name in songs. Maybe like 6 songs now. If a b***h ain’t saying my name, she not dissin me. Cause I’ll 100% diss anybody back! Just say my name like Destiny’s Child!” she wrote on X.
After Remy Ma dissed Shields on her recent song “WYFL,” leading to Shields slight dissing Remy back on “Run Yo Mouth,” she was asked about the beef on the Ariel Helwani show after freestyling for the MMA journalist. Her response was very nonchalant.
“I don’t know many of her songs so I can’t say much,” Shields said.
It’s unknown if Helwani knew their beef already, or if he was blindly ignorant to their history, but either way, it made for an awkward close to the interview.
