Atlanta rapper Peewee Longway has reportedly accepted a federal plea deal that could result in a significant prison sentence, while helping him avoid the possibility of life behind bars.
According to reports, the plea agreement carries an estimated sentence of 10 to 14 years. The case stems from drug conspiracy and firearm possession charges, both of which carried serious penalties if taken to trial. As part of the deal, prosecutors have agreed to drop several additional counts, reducing Longway’s overall exposure.
The rapper is expected to be officially sentenced in July, which will likely bring closure to a case that had much higher stakes on the table.
While the outcome spares him from a potential life sentence, Longway still faces a lengthy stretch, marking a major development in his ongoing legal situation.
