Police Issue Warrant For Gervonta’s Arrest
In a press conference on Wednesday, Miami Gardens executive officer Emmanuel Jeanty said that they are “actively working” with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to find the WBA Champion.
“At this time, the Miami Gardens Police Department is actively working with the United States Marshal’s fugitive task force. To locate and apprehend Mr. Davis,” Jeanty said in a statement as heard through ESPN. “Domestic violence is a serious crime. And the Miami Gardens Police Department remains committed to holding offenders accountable and protecting victims.”
According to an October 30 report from ESPN, Davis’ ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel filed a civil lawsuit against him. Where she accused the boxing star of “battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress.”
According to the outlet, the incident occurred at Tootsie’s, a popular Miami gentlemen’s club where Rossel works. Davis allegedly stormed into the restaurant in a rage and attacked Rossell in a back room where no cameras were present.
Rossel also says that the boxing star, “dragged her through a stairwell, kitchen, and the back exit before physically assaulting her in the parking garage.”
She also says that this is not the first instance where Davis has assaulted her. She says that during their five-month relationship, there were “at least” four instances where “he physically assaulted and choked” her.
During the press conference, Jeanty noted that in their investigation, they confirmed that Davis “Used force to restrain in an attempt to remove the victim from the location against her will.”
At the time of writing, Davis remains a wanted man who has yet to be apprehended.
