The lifecycles of the internet and relevancy go in waves, as Polo G is now learning. The multiplatinum rapper, opened up about his journey as a streamer and it left people with mixed feelings.
What Did Polo G Say?
During his stream, the Chicago rapper is asked about Streamer University, which he rebuffs, saying he’s not a big enough streamer yet.
“They having another Streamer University this year? Polo G asks his chat. “Man I ain’t even going to go to that one. I’ll probably go to another one next year. I’m still an upcoming streamer.”
Later in the clip, he gets upset with his chat for asking him.
“Man I’m not going to Streamer U,” Polo G says annoyed. “I’m trying to be nice to y’all but I’m not doing that s***. I fw them. You see I got a little AMP sticker on my door. I push for this s***, I’m tryna see the vision, I’m tryna get like Big Bro and them over there and s***. Have me and squad take a picture like that and we the top streaming group.
He also got upset when people asked why he doesn’t have more viewers, asking people to “get off his d***.”
Just seven years ago, Polo G was one of the biggest young rappers in the world with number one Billboard hits and several multiplatinum songs. He opened up about why he wanted to get into streaming on a prior Instagram story.
“I heard they pay better than rap,” Polo G posted.

How Did Fans React To His Comments?
Fans looked at the clip as evidence of a sad fall off from a rapper who was once billed as part of the future of the genre.
“please invest all of your money if you a musician. dont go out sad,” one user posted.
“This s*** actually sad bro, at one point I thought this n**** was next up and now he twitch streaming begging n***** for change,” another user posted.
“This guy has 23 platinum songs from his early 20’s and is talking like this. S*** is sad to see,” another user posted.
This isn’t the first time people caught Polo G looking sad. Earlier in the year, Polo G alleges that the government raided his place and stole 280K he had saved up. He then asked fans on his stream to donate $5 gifted because he’s going broke.
His girlfriend revealed that Polo G has her shopping at the Dollar Tree despite being 8 months pregnant. She also claims he has $10K left to his name.
Polo G has not responded to the clips yet, but he likely will on his next Kick stream.
